Produced as collaboration with John Gillies retired boilermaker and John Alder as technical producer during a “Year of the Artist Residency” at the Discovery Museum. The work was shown in the Maritime Gallery of the Discovery Museum as a 3-hour work that acted as a historical document. It was installed in Friar House Newcastle as part of the VANE 2000 festival then the short version was made for a curated showing in Budapest in 2003. This was the first of a series of videos that incorporated aspects of social documentary into abstracted images and sounds. The sound patterns of John Gillies dialogue are translated into the blue movement of the second screen as well as operating alongside in a slowed down form
