For the past few years, Helen Baker’s work has been inspired light, form and colour in two very different locations; Rome and the North East of England. She has made paintings that engage with the act of building - making colour function like building blocks one square on another.

Over the last year she began to create paintings that also look like objects. She added bits to paintings to disrupt the surface edge, made the surface thicker and into building blocks as a solid painted form. The Gallery is with works which explore new ways of thinking about painting. In Fusion Gallery new prints from an artist’s book will look at colour, again from the above locations.
